Privacy policy

Traffic data. When you visit our website or use our services, we automatically collect and temporarily store traffic data in the server logs This includes your IP address, request parameters, device information such as browser type and browser version, date and time. We use this data to analyze trends (e.g., popular pages on our site) and to help solve any issues you might encounter.

Personal data. When you sign up to use our services, we'll ask for personal information, like your name and your e-mail address. We take all reasonable steps to ensure that the data is stored securely, including methods such as Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and data encryption.

Payments. We do not store your credit card information. We instead rely on the secure third-party payment processor Stripe. You may also want to read Stripe's privacy policy: https://stripe.com/us/privacy.

Cookies. When you sign in to your account, we'll utilize a cookie to identify you. Our cookies do not collect any personal information.

We will not disclose your personal information unless required to do so by law, or if you violate our terms of use.


Textgain BVBA (we, us, our) operates textgain.com (our services). By using our services, you agree to the collection, use and disclosure of personal data according to this policy.

Personal data. When you use our services, we may ask for information that can be used to contact or identify you. This may include, but is not limited to, your name and e-mail address (personal data). We use your personal data to provide and improve our services. We will not use or share your personal data except as described in this policy.

Traffic data. When you use our services, we may collect data sent by your browser. This may include your IP address, browser type, browser version, the pages on our website that you visit, the time and date of your visit (traffic data). We may use third-party services such as Google Analytics to collect and analyze this data, to increase our website’s functionality. These third-party services may have their own privacy policies.

Cookies. Cookies are small pieces of data sent from a website you visit. Cookies are sent to your browser and stored on your device, for example to remember your preferences when you revisit the website. We use cookies to collect traffic data and determine whether you are signed in. You can disable cookies in your browser, but this may also disable some of our services.

Third-party services. We may use third-party service providers to facilitate our services on our behalf, or to assist us in analyzing how our services are used. These third parties have access to your personal data only to perform these tasks on our behalf, and are obligated not to use or share it for any other purpose.

Third-party websites. We may link to third-party websites on our website. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to their website. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content or policy of any third-party website or service.

Data security. Your personal data is very important to us, but remember that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We use robust, industry-standard methods to protect your information, but we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data transfer. Your personal data may be sent to (and stored on) servers located outside of your state, province or country, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. When you consent to this policy and provide data to us, you agree to this transfer.

Regulatory compliance. We will disclose your personal data when required to do so by law, or if we believe that this is necessary to comply with the law and reasonable requests of law enforcement, or to protect the security of our services.

Policy changes. This policy is effective from January 10, 2016. Please consult this page on a regular basis for updates to our policy.

Terms of service

Predictive accuracy. Each of our services reports a confidence score. This score represents the statistical accuracy, on average. For example, 0.8 means 80% or 8/10 correct predictions. Our services improve continually, but you cannot hold us responsible for individual mistakes, such as the age or gender of an odd tweet being predicted incorrectly. Make sure you understand what is contained in the texts you analyze, or contact us to help you out.

Refunds. We do not offer a 14-day money back guarantee. We offer a 100 free requests per day, for as long as you like, without signing up. Once you sign up for a personal key, your credit card is instantly charged for the first month. If you decide to cancel your subscription on the first day, and you used less than a 100 queries, we will issue a refund. We may also decide to issue a refund if our servers go down, but we are not obligated to do so.

Copyright. You may integrate our services in your own product, for example as part of a social media monitoring app. You may not attempt to reverse engineer the technology to create a competitive product, or sell (rent, sublicense, distribute, ...) any of our services.


Textgain BVBA (we, us, our) operates textgain.com (our services). By using our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to the terms, do not use our services.

Data privacy. Some of our services can be used to predict personal information of private individuals. Be advised that the collection, misuse or disclosure of such data may be prohibited by data protection laws.

Subscription. Some of our services are billed on a monthly basis (subscription), in advance. Your subscription will automatically renew each month, unless you cancel your account or unless we cancel it. You must provide a valid credit card and accurate billing information, and by doing so, you authorize us to charge subscription fees incurred through your account. We will issue an electronic invoice should automatic billing fail.

Subscription fee. We may change the subscription fee. We will provide a reasonable prior notice to give you the opportunity to cancel your account before the change becomes effective. If you continue to use our services, you agree to pay the new subscription fee. Subscription fees are non-refundable except when required by law.

Account. We may cancel your account if you do not provide accurate, complete information, or if you use the name of another person, entity, or trademark without authorization. You agree not to share your password. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for any actions under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or security breach.

Account termination. We may cancel your account without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach our terms. Your right to use our services will cease immediately. You can cancel your account at any time.

Third Party Libraries. Some part-of-speech taggers are based on taggers developed by Explosion AI and are used according to their respective licenses: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Dutch. The language identification is based on the langid library (license).

Copyright. With the exception of the aforementioned third party libraries, Textgain BVBA is the exclusive owner of the services and its original content, features and functionality. The services are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws in Belgium and foreign countries. You may not use our trademarks or trade dress with any product or service without our prior written consent. You may not reproduce, reverse engineer, decompile, dissassemble or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, or create derivative works of our services (reverse engineering). If you believe that reverse engineering constitues fair use, you must first request such information from us.

Limitation of liability. In no event will Textgain BVBA be liable for your loss of revenues or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, resulting from your use or inability to use the services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages, and even if a remedy is found to have failed.

Disclaimer. Your use of the services is at your sole risk. The services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, or course of performance. We do not warrant that the services are accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free.

Governing law. The terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Belgium, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. If any provision of the terms is invalid, or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of the terms remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision of the terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or of any other provision.

Changes. These terms are effective from January 10, 2016, and supersede any prior terms. Please consult this page on a regular basis for updates to our terms.
